Civil Construction CERT II
The Certificate II in Civil Construction is a nationally accredited training program from the Training Package for Civil Construction. It covers civil operations work undertaken in local government, state road authorities and civil contractors. Depending on the units selected participants may be trained across different areas including the operation of load shifting equipment and plant, excavation techniques, trenching and confined space work. Upon successful completion of this course participants will receive a qualification in RII20709 – Certificate II in Civil Construction.
You will develop skills such as:
• Power tool and explosive device operations
• Basic rigging performance/manual excavation
• Trim and fell trees
• License to perform dogging
• Erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding
• Support plant operations
• Carry out concrete work
• Interpretation of plans and specs
• General labourer/trainee
• Road worker
• Asphalt worker
*Upon completion of selected program, you may receive one or all of the following: Construction Induction Card (White Card), Forklift license test, Traffic control license.
Participants should have a genuine desire to seek employment.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course but all participants must attend an interview prior to acceptance into the course. Sound basic reading and writing skills and an ability to participate in some of the manual handling and lifting may be required in the course.
Where applicants can show evidence of prior qualification or experience in a related field, there may be an opportunity to apply for recognition to be given for previous study, knowledge, and/or skills resulting from work or life experience relevant to this qualification.
